June 25: The 2007 All Star team has been added to the Awards page.

June 25: Results of the 2007 State Championships are available.

June 20: Athletes are reminded that this weekends CJL State Championship is the qualifier if an athlete plans to participate in the Junior Olympics. Athletes must either be a current or former elite roster athlete OR must participate in their State Championship. Athletes do not need to win a medal, but need only participate in the State Championship in order to qualify for the Junior Olympics. Complete entry forms for the State Championsihip can be found on the event schedule page and for the Junior Olympics on USA Judo's website, www.usjudo.org.

June 20:
The Boulder Judo Training Center will hold a summer day camp for all boys and girls ages 3-10 interested in learning or continuing their judo training while having some fun this summer.  The camp will be July 9-13, 10 am – 3 pm. This is an excellent opportunity for young athletes to prep for the Junior Olympics, do fun activities, play athletic games, and meet other kids.

June 15: The Colorado Judo League Promotion Procedures and Testing Requirements booklet has been updated and posted on the promotion information page. This document incorporates the USA Judo time-in grade and minimum age requirements, method for obtaining promotion points, and fees for the various belt ranks. In addition, it explains Colorado Judo League's testing procedures, deadlines for applications, and the written test that must be taken by all applicants.

June 15:  Denver Judo will be hosting a clinic with 2004 Olympian Rhadi Ferguson, tentatively scheduled for September 28-30.  Details will be forthcoming.

June 15:  Results of the 1st Annual Front Range Judo Championship are available on the results page.

June 4: The Colorado Judo League referee commission will conduct referee certification testing at the Front Range Judo Championship on June 9th in Colorado Springs.  To be certified as a local referee, brown belt rank is required.  To be certified as a regional referee, black belt rank is required.  There will be a written test that is composed of 50 questions.  Applicants may take this test any time during the tournament and will be given one hour to complete the test.  For additional information, contact Bruce Larkins or Jentry Kendall.

June 3:  EXTEMELY IMPORTANT!!! The CJL State Championship has been moved to SUNDAY, JUNE 24th because of a gym schedule conflict that was not communicated to us until now.  The 2nd session of the training camp will be conducted on SATURDAY, JUNE 23rd.  All tournament and camp times, deadlines, location, etc., remain unchanged.  Only the dates have been changed. Camp sessions will start promptly ( 7PM Friday, June 22 and 9:am Saturdday, June 23)  Please arrive 30 minutes early for the first camp session that you attend in order to verify or complete camp registration.

May 25: Attention Senior and Masters Athletes - Start time for your competition in the State Championship on June 23 has been moved  one hour earlier than previously announced.  Check-in/Registration/Weigh-in will be 11:00 am - 12:00 noon and Roll call will be at 12:30 PM.  A modified entry form has been added to the event schedule page.

May 23: A number of clarifications have been added to the State Championships Entry Package.  These include instructions for early weigh-in, discounted entry fees, and other important information.  Please download the new package from the event schedule page.

May 23: Reminders and updates for the Front Range Judo Championships, June 9th:
1. The postmark deadline entry forms is May 29 after which a late entry fee will be assessed. Entry forms are available on the event schedule page.
2. There will also be a post-tournament party, so please plan to attend.
3. Athletes may also weigh-in at the tournament site, Colorado College, El Pomar Sports Center, from 4:00 pm through 7:30 pm on Friday, the day before the tournament. This time period was not previously announced as the organizers had not yet finalized their access times to the venue.

May 21:  Details of the August black belt promotion test are posted.

May 21: Results of the 6th Boulder Mountain Championship are on the results page.

May 18: The Entry package for the Colorado Goodwill tournament is available on the Tournament Schedule page.  This event is open to all players between 11 and 19 years of age of all skill and experience levels.

May 17: A number of CJL members received promotions at the latest meeting of the USA Judo promotion board.

May 17:  CJL Scholarships are available to Athletes who are graduating High School or are currently in college.  Please contact Mrs. Verna Larkins ( secusji@aol.com or 303-986-4305 ) as soon as possible for further information and to obtain an application form.

May 17: The Registered Clubs page has been updated.

May 16: Results of the OTC Classic tournament are available on the Results page.

May 16: Entry packages for both the CJL State Championships, June 23, and Rocky Mountain Roundup Judo Camp June 22 & 24 are available on the Tournament Schedule page.

May 16: USA Judo has revised the senior promotion system and CJL is now following these new procedures.  A link to a pdf file describing the new procedures, requirements, and fees can be found on the Promotion Information Page. 

May 10: CJL will hold it's State Championship on June 23rd at Northglenn Recreation Center.  The Rocky Mountain Training Camp will be held in conjunction with the Championship:  Sessions will be held Friday evening before the tournament and Sunday morning after the tournament.

May 10: The 2008 Paralympic Trials will be held in conjunction with the 40th Annual Northglenn Judo Championship.

May 10: The 40th Annual Northglenn Judo Championship has been scheduled for April 26, 2008.  Please mark your calendars

May 2: The Registered Clubs page has been updated.

May 2: Minutes for  the Colo. Judo League February, 2007 meeting are available.

April 30: Important announcements regarding the OTC tournament on May 5th:

1)   The directions are incorrect on the entry form due to the fact that the Bijou exit is closed because of construction.  Take the exit before Bijou (if coming from the north), after Bijou is coming from the south) which is Uintah.  That exit number is 143.  You will then take Uintah all the way until it dead ends, which is Union and then turn right (south) on Union, right (west) onto Boulder, Training Center is on the right.
2) There will be weigh-ins on Friday evening for the out-of-town folks as well as anyone else who want to weigh in.  They will be at the Olympic Training Center from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
3) 
ZIP file of some forms that the OTC requires of every competitor.  If participants can fill these out ahead of time it would sure speed up the registration process.  If the participant is over 18, s/he can skip the waiver. Everyone still has to fill out the bio, hippa, and medical forms.

April 25: Colorado Athletes results at the Senior and Masters Nationals

April 25: There will be a Colorado Goodwill Tournament to be held in tandem with the 2007 IBSA (International Blind Sports Association) Youth and Student Championships on July 15th.  This event is open to all players between 11 and 19 years of age of all skill and experience levels.  Refer to the Tournament Schedule for an entry package.

April 25: The Front Range Judo Tournament will hold a party/picnic after the event at Ju Shin Kan Dojo and Flanagan park.

April 9:  Results of the 2007 Northglenn Championship are available on the Results Page.

April 2:  The entry package for the 1st Front Range Judo Tournament, to be held on June 9th is available on the Tournament Schedule page.

March 29: Tomorrow is the postmark deadline for the Northglenn Judo Championship.  Mail your entry tomorrow and save $10.00.  After tomorrow, entry fee is $55 and you must register as a "walk-up."

March 29: The entry package for the OTC Classic tournament has been added to the Tournament Schedule page.

March 29: Ed Liddie has been named as chairperson of the CJL Coach Commission.  Commission members are:  Warren Agena, Jeff Laurel, Paul Truong, Rich Riley, and Grace Jividen.

March 28: The CJL summer meeting has been scheduled for June 3, 1-5 PM at the Castle Rock Bank Building.

March 28: A link to the entry package for the 6th Boulder Mountain tournament has been added to the Tournament Schedule page.

March 23: A link to a new flyer for the OTC Judo Tournament has been posted on the Tournament Schedule page.

March 1: Results of the 2nd Pikes Peak Tournament are posted on the results page.

February 28: The Club Registration page has been updated.

February 27:  The following updates to the 39th Northglenn Championships entry package have been made:  1) Headquarters Hotel will be the same as last year, the Ramada Plaza - $84 flat rate 1-4 persons; call 303-452-4100. Ask for the "Judo Rate"; 2) A  Senior Novice Category has been added; 3) An entry form and additional information for the Team Tournament have been added.

February 27: The Arizona State Championships will be held on March 31st in the Phoenix area and is open to athletes from all states.  Refer to the Tournament Schedule for additional information.

February 22-23: The Tournament Schedule has been updated with several new events and a flyer has been added for the March Madness clinic on March 16-18.  
Also please note that the CJL State Championship, originally scheduled for March 3rd, has been moved to the weekend of June 23rd.

February 2:  A new tournament, the Front Range Judo Championship has been tentatively scheduled for June 9th in Colorado Springs.  Mark your calendars!

February 2: The CJL Winter meeting has been rescheduled for February 18th at the same location as previously announced.

January 23: A REVISED Entry Package for the 2007 Northglenn Championship is available - Clarification that Senior players may participate in a weight division and, optionally, the Open division.

January 23: The OTC Judo Club has announced that they will host a tournament on May 5th.  Detailed information will be forthcoming.

January 22: The Entry Package for the 2007 Northglenn Championship is available.

January 22: The Entry Package for the 2007 Pikes Peak Championship is available.

January 22: Results of the Brian Olson Winter Classic are available.

January 9: Photos for a slide presentation at the CJL awards banquet are needed from all clubs.  Please submit photos to Heidi Moore.

January 9: Nomination forms for CJL's all start team, volunteer-, coach-, and referee-of-the-year have been updated on the awards banquet page.

January 9: The club contact page has been updated.
